Cerila's story

This is Cerila, 53, a resident of Silang, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Roberto, her business partner, and a mother to her children. She, together with her husband, manages their own household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses. Cerila operates a vegetable farm. She grows vegetables and some sweet potato in their farm located in Cavite, in the highlands where it is suited to growing vegetables and fruit. She sells her product at the market and fruit stores that she regularly supplies and to the local community. She earns a minimum of Php 1000 in sales every week. To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a Php 10,000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy fertilizer and farm inputs for her business. Part of the loan will go to the maintenance of her farm. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business. Cerila dreams of being able to give all her family a good life and hopes to expand her business. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies. * All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and repay Micro Finance loans.
