A loan of $1,000 helped buy craft supplies at wholesale prices to make masks.

Andres's story

59-year old Sr. Andrés is married and earns his living making and selling crafts. He makes devil and traditional masks which are much sought after for the dances performed at fiestas such as the Carnaval de Oruro and La Fiesta de Gran Poder. Andrés has a stall in the Los Andes neighbourhood. This is his first loan with the institution.

He plans to use the money to buy craft supplies so he can continue improving his business. Profits will be reinvested in further supplies so that he can improve his income.

Andrés' wish is to have a large craft store and offer an improved service to his customers. He is a very hardworking man who is pleased to have this opportunity for a loan. Making masks by hand is his sole source of income as it is very time-consuming. But at times of fiestas when people wear masks, he has a good income; however, it is seasonal.
