A loan of $1,250 helped to buy inputs for her coffee crop.

Alejandra's story

Alejandra, 53, is the mother of two dependent children. She only studied up to the third grade of elementary school because her parents had limited resources and weren't able to help her finish her studies.

She and her husband together with the family are involved in various agricultural activities such as shelling corn, clearing, cleaning, etc. She has a lot of experience because she has worked in agriculture for more than 33 years. Her parents taught her to work the land.

She also has a coffee crop that she sells on a small scale to intermediaries, grocery stores, and others who go to the area where she lives. She's requesting help to take care of her coffee plants by buying inputs to fertilize from the root to the whole bean.

In the future she hopes to acquire another plot of land to be able to leave to her children so they can favorably handle financial and other problems. Agriculture is her only means to an income to cover the various necessities that come up daily.
