Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's story

Bárbara is 47 years old. She is married and she has three children. She participates in the "Women Entrepreneurs" Communal Bank which is made up of 5 women who work hard in solidarity with one another. In order to get ahead and to contribute to her home, Bárbara decided to start her own business. With this in mind she took courses on sewing and design to later start her own sewing business. Now, she has spent 4 years providing this service. She also knits, as a secondary activity to obtain extra income for her family. Her next goal is to create a store for renting costumes so that she can ensure she will obtain greater earnings. She used her previous loan to support her sewing business by buying scissors, fabrics and threads, among other items. The "Women Entrepreneurs" group is grateful for the loans provided to them. Bárbara is the first woman on the left hand side of the photo, she is dressed in a black sweater and she is wearing a scarf.
