Doreen is a married woman with one child who is still young. They live in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are for food for the family. She has operated a clothes-selling business, where she sells at the market to town dwellers and her neighbours. She cites her major challenge to be the rate of stock turnover, which is affected by the seasons. With the loan she is applying for, she wants to buy two bales of clothes for resale. About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
