A loan of $725 helped buy various goods.

Minata's story

Mrs. Minata is about 51 years old, married with five children. She lives with her husband and their children in Koutiala (Sikasso region).

Minata did not have the opportunity to conduct long-term studies. This explains her interest in income-generating activities, namely buying and selling Bazin and other types of fabrics over the past several years.

Minata is very much in demand by her customers. To increase the size of her business and satisfy her customers, she decided to join the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance institution more than 8 years ago. This is her seventh individual loan, and the preceding ones were properly reimbursed.

With this new loan she intends to buy woven fabrics, dyed bazins and bed sheets. She get her supplies from Burkina Faso and Koutiala, and sells retail in the city of Koutiala, to a clientele of mainly women, for cash and credit.

She expects to make monthly profits of 40,000 FCFA she will use to repay the loan, participate in her family's daily expenses, and pursue her business activity with the remainder.
