A loan of $2,950 helped a member to buy CDs.

Flor Naciente Group's story

The "Flor Naciente" communal began will begin its sixth cycle with "Pro Mujer", through the Los Andes central office. The group is made up of nine members and is directed by a board, which is headed the the president, Daniela. The members of the communal bank have businesses working in different areas including: selling chicken, selling meals, selling pork, dressmaking, selling fruits, selling cosmetics, producing trousers, selling CDs and more.

This loan will benefit small businesses in the communal bank, which Daniela is a part of. Daniela tells us that she herself joined "Pro Mujer" three years ago following an invitation from her mother, who is a member of the institution. Daniela currently has a business selling CDs and she tells us that she started this business with her own initiative after she saw how well CDs were selling.

This loan will be used to increase her working capital by buying CDs in bulk from distributors at markets in the city of El Alto. Daniela will then sell them from her own stall. This types of work allows Daniela to earn money to support her household as best as possible. She is married and has one son.

When asked what she likes about "Pro Mujer" Daniela says that she likes that she can save and borrow; she also likes the training and health advice provided.

In this group: Daniela Ninoska, Betty Noemi, Brigida Virginia, Patricia , Ruth , Cinthia, Ruth , Cristina, Ines
