A loan of $375 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Ludy's story

Ludy is thirty years old and lives with her husband Valerio and their young son. She takes care of them in the home she inherited from her parents. Ever since she was a child, she dedicated her effort to farming and selling cattle. She mainly grows potatoes, corn, and alfalfa. She says raising animals is profitable because she grows alfalfa and uses it to feed them. She also sells large amounts of alfalfa and distributes it among vendors. Besides selling her cattle, approximately every six months she harvests her products and sells them to her customers. In the future she would like to have a large stable and more land in order to increase her profits.

This is her third loan opportunity through Kiva. She has always made her payments on time, because she was taught to be responsible and very supportive of her association. Ludy will invest the 1,000 soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her alfalfa crops.
