A loan of $1,000 helped to buy supplies and manure for sowing corn.

Erlin Suyapa's story

Erlin is 26 years old. She has a partner and is a mother to three children. They all live together as a family. Erlin completed up to the end of sixth year at primary school and has been working in farming since her childhood. Her parents, and generations before them, have been farmers and Erlin is no exception. Erlin and her partners are the only ones working on their crops, growing corn, beans and coffee. This work provided an income for her parents and continues to generate an income for Erlin. Her clients include various grocery stores and wholesalers who come to the area looking for supplies.

Today Erlin is applying for help to buy supplies and manure for her corn crops. With it she will be able to have a better harvest and more profit to reinvest and to pay off her loan.

Erlin's plan is to grow a variety of crops to sell, such as chillis, beetroot and more. She can then earn a higher income for her family and buy cattle in order to sell dairy products such as cheese, butter and curd. Erlin will then be able to guarantee an education for her children.
