Yelba lives in the city of Managua and works as a custodian in a university, where she works from 8 - 5 daily. Then she goes home to care for her young children, as she is a single mother and has to work harder to get ahead with her school age children.

Yelba is seeking a loan from Kiva in order to make some necessary modifications to her house, for instance, the electrical system. She is doing this with the goal of insuring her home. As well, she thanks Ceprodel since the loans obtained previously have improved her house little by little. They have also been used to pay for the education of her young children since her greatest objective is to prepare her children for a profession in the future.
