A loan of $1,400 helped to buy cement, bricks and sheet metal to make repairs to his cows' stable so that they can have a warmer environment and produce higher quality milk.

Guillermo's story

Guillermo raises dairy cattle and sells the milk to a milk processor and distributor. He lives in his own home with his wife and children, in his own home in the community of Chojñacollo, in the sector of Pucarani in the province of Los Andes in the department of La Paz. His home is three hours from the city of La Paz.

He has several well-bred head of cattle, which require a great deal of care given the geographic and climate conditions in his area.

This is his second loan he his seeking through IMPRO and his first time going through Kiva. He will use the loan proceeds to purchase construction materials such as bricks, cement and corrugated sheet metal. He will then be able to make repairs to his cows' stable, which will keep his animals in good health and improve their production. Livestock living in better climate conditions (warmer stables) have better milk production.

His dream is to add to his livestock and keep his animals in good health.
