A loan of $1,100 helped a member pay labour costs and purchase products for the earth.

Noupagagnon E Group's story

The seven members of the NOUPAGAGNON E group are married women. They are of an average age of 46 years old with three children and all live in traditional families in Kolokoba, one of the villages in the third administrative region of Mali (Sikasso). They collaborate with the micro finance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to manage their agricultural activities during the wintering. This is their seventh loan for agricultural activities from the institution and all the previous loans have been repaid correctly. The crops that they cultivate are among other things, groundnuts, rice, corn, and chili as in the case of Niogo who is the first person on the left in the photo sitting down. With her loan she plans to buy products for the earth and pay labour costs for the upkeep of 1 hectare. The crop is sold in the village after the harvest to a masculine and feminine clientele. They hope to make an average profit of 175 000FCFA per plot of land. This profit will enable her to repay her loan and help her husband with daily expenses.
