Noupagagnon B Group's story

The ten members of the group NOUPAGAGNON B are married women who average 45 years of age and three children each. They all live in traditional families in KOLOKOBA, a village of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of Mali).

They partnered with the Yoro Yiriwaso microfinance institution to sustain their farming activities during the rainy season. This is their 7th farming loan with Soro Yiriwaso, and all past loans were correctly repaid.

AWA grows groundnuts, rice, maize, and peppers. She is sitting first from the left in the photo. Awa will use her loan to buy inputs and to pay for the cost of plowing one hectare of land.

After the harvest, the crops are sold in the village to a clientele consisting of both men and women.

Awa expects to earn an average profit of 200,000FCFA per campaign. This will allow her to repay her loan and to help her husband with the daily expenses.
