A loan of $2,550 helped to purchase cattle for the expansion of her business.

Vafa's story

Vafa is 35 years old and the mother of 2 sons. She is an IDP (internally displaced person) and lives with her husband and children in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. She has dedicated 12 years of her life to agriculture. Vafa usually buys small calves, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months and then sells them for a profitable price in the livestock bazaar. Her monthly income is 140 AZN and this business is the only source of financial income in her family. Beef is in very high demand in Azerbaijan and people use it in everyday dishes like pilau and dolma. Vafa also keeps milking cows for personal use and for selling to neighbors.

She has already taken 4 loans from Aqroinvest in the past. With a good loan history she has applied for this fifth loan of 2000 AZN in order to purchase three cattle and one milking cow. With this money she wants to expand her business and improve the living conditions of her family.
