Sulaiman B.'s Group's story

Pictured above are the teachers of a primary school located in Waterloo, a town in Western Sierra Leone. This group of teachers have come to SMT (a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone) to apply for a loan of SLL 14,600,000 in order to meet their most immediate and pressing financial challenges. Additionally at the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan using their monthly salaries. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.
