Einice is married and blessed with two children who attend school. She owns a house that has electricity but no piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
She sells tea leaves at the market, selling to town dwellers and passersby. She cites high cost of transportation as her major challenge in the business. She dreams of establishing a café business in the future.
With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase five sacks of tea leaves to sell to earn a living. She decided to join Yehu to access financial support to expand her business
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
