A loan of $250 helped to add a stock of maize, beans, peas and rice to sell.

Joel's story

Joel is a 30-year-old man who is married and has one child. He describes himself as faithful, understanding and honest. He operates a cereals shop where he sells maize, beans, peas and rice. He has been in this business for four years.

He will use the loan of KES 20,000 to add a stock of maize, beans, peas and rice to sell. His customers are domestic customers and schools. He faces a challenge of lack of enough stock.

He will use the anticipated profits to improve his family living standards. In five years time he wants to be a general supplier. He also keeps livestock and does farming to supplement his income. This is his first loan with SMEP DTM.
