Om-Ghadar Group's story

Om-Ghadar Group is a four-member group. All of them are poor women from Taiz, Yemen. Collectively, they applied for a YER 160,000 loan from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank (AMB) to renovate their house.

Nama is a 43-year-old married woman and has eleven children. She is the leader of the group. She is uneducated, living in a poor area in Taiz. Her house is very old and in a miserable situation. She has accumulated some money to renovate her house. It is known that house renovation requires a lot of money. She has started renovating her house, but now she is short of money.

She needs to complete the renovation task, so she asked for a loan of YER 40,000 to buy cement and carpentry materials. She hopes that, after the completion of the house renovation, she can start accumulating money to improve living conditions for her family.
