A loan of $2,575 helped a member to buy thread for making textiles.

Villa Flores Group's story

Señora Angelica Veronica is single, 23 years old, attended three years of basic education, and makes a living by making textiles like skirts and guipiles (traditional Guatemalan blouses). She began this business after learning it from her mother, and up to this day has 13 years of experience. She relies on the support of her family.

She organized a group and requested a loan which she will use to buy thread to be able to make her textiles. In the future she wishes to sell her merchandise outside of the country.

The other members of the group make a living by making guipiles and skirts.

In the picture, only 9 borrowers appear because it was difficult for one of the members to be present when the photo was taken.

In this group: Francisca, Melvy Lucrecia, Angelica Veronica, Loida Olimpia, Thelma Lynett, Margarita, Petrona, Elvia, Maria Raquel*, Juana Jeronimo
