A loan of $3,825 helped a member to buy fertilizer to grow coffee beans.

Chiquilense Group's story

Alicia is married. She is forty years old, completed one year of primary education, and has six children. Four of them are in school. She works growing coffee crops and started her business by purchasing some small coffee plants with her husband. They later purchased more and more plants and she now has ten years of experience.

She organizes a group and is requesting a loan. She will use it to purchase fertilizer for her coffee crops. She wants to have more land in the future, and more coffee plants so that she may obtain a greater harvest.

Some of the other members of this group work growing coffee beans and corn, and others work weaving. Twelve members appear in the photo, but only eleven were granted the loan.

In this group: Alicia, Rebelicia, Catarina, Catarina, Aura Leticia, Catarina, Maria, Margarita, Maricelda, Macedonia, Rosa
