A loan of $3,950 helped a member to buy plastic items.

Rubi Group's story

Communal bank ”Rubi” will start its seventh cycle with Pro Mujer, as a part of the Focal Center of Collpani. It has nine members, and is directed by a board of which Martha is the president. They all have different lines of work: baking, a grocery store, selling food, making aprons, knitting sweaters, sewing skirts, and selling creams.

This loan will help small entrepreneurs such as Martha. She says that she has been a member of Pro Mujer for five years. She was invited by a friend who is also a member. Martha currently sells plastic items, a business she started with a loan she received from Pro Mujer, following her friends’ advice.

With this loan, Martha will buy more plastic items at the fairs in the city of Oruro. After processing them, she will sell them in her establishment. With this activity she generates resources to support her family. She is married and has three daughters.

She says that what she likes the most about Pro Mujer is the good service that the staff at the loans division gives her.

One of the members had a medical appointment and is not in the picture.
