A loan of $275 helped to purchase more used shoes for her business.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth lives and works in St. Paul. St. Paul is home to the oldest market in Liberia and is known for its fish, due to its location by the sea. St. Paul is a suburb, located just outside Monrovia, past the Free-port. It is one of the poorer areas and you will often find its residents living in sub-standard housing.

Elizabeth is 50 years old, married, with three children between 28 and 15 years old. Only one lives at home and is in school. She completed 12 grades.

Elizabeth runs a shop business, selling used shoes. She describes herself as a serious businesswoman. She started her business 21 years ago, using money given to her by her husband. Typically, she works at her business from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and she transports her goods to her business by a shared taxi. She cites her greatest challenge as small capital. She is proud of her business because it supports her home.

Using the proceeds of this loan, she intends to purchase more used shoes for her business. In the future, she plans to build her house and educate her children. She sincerely thanks you in advance for your support.
