Gul's story

Gul is a 37-year-old diligent and hardworking woman living in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, along with her husband and three daughters. Her husband is a government employee and all of her children are currently studying in schools. Her husband’s monthly income is not enough to meet the household expenses. They are living in a rented house and Gul desires to have their own house, as they have to pay very high house rent every month.

Gul has been helping her husband by selling clothing for three years. She has requested a loan from Kiva’s partner, BRAC Pakistan, to buy new varieties of clothing and expand her business. With the profit amount she wants to pay the educational expenses of her children and save some money for the future. She is very hopeful that the loan would be a productive one for them.
