A loan of $500 helped a member to buy more grocery items for resale.

Somaly's Group's story

Age 30 and a villager from Pursat Province, Somaly is a mother of one little kid and one of the breadwinners in the family. To cover the daily cost of living, she does rice cropping and runs a small stall to sell grocery items. The business that she has had for six years has returned her about 16,300 KHR per day. This is not the first micro-loan for Somaly with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has fully repaid back her past loan, which has sustained her living better than before. Now, she formed a group of two to apply for a new loan in order to buy more grocery items for resale. She hopes this purchase will replenish her business on time and keep improving her lifestyle.
