A loan of $200 helped to buy seeds and fertilizers.

Victoria's story

Victoria was born in the community of Pumapaccha, where she still lives. She is 21 years old, lives in a common-law marriage and has a child. Victoria is a hardworking and enterprising person that gets ahead with a lot of effort and hard work. She makes handicrafts, more specifically different types of knitting: scarfs, chullos [an Andean style of hat with earflaps] and blankets. She also works in agriculture. She has several pieces of land where she grows different types of potatoes, tarwi [a species of lupine grown in the Andes] and other types of vegetables.

Victoria has been a member of communal bank “Tahuantinsuyo” for some years and is now requesting a loan to buy seeds and fertilizers.

(The community of Pumapaccha is located in the Colquepata district, Paucartambo province, in the department of Cusco).
