Raquel, 30, lives with her common-law husband and son, who is still in school. She is a member of the communal bank "JULIO C. TELLO AL PROGRESO" which has helped her improve the family economy. She used to teach dancing at a school called La Canuta but for two years she has been working in the municipality of Santa Eulalia as a secretary. In her free time she sells beauty products. Her greatest goal is to have her own house.

She plans to use the loan to buy more beauty products. The communal bank is grateful to KIVA lenders for the loan. Raquel is the first one on the left.

Raquel tiene 30 años es conviviente con un hijo aun educando en la escuela. Ser socia del grupo “JULIO C. TELLO AL PROGRESO” le ha ayudado a mejorar su economía familiar. Años atrás daba clases de danza a jóvenes del colegio La Cantuta. Hace 2 años trabaja en la municipalidad de Santa Eulalia como secretaria. En sus tiempos libres vende producto de belleza. Su mayor deseo es tener su casa propia. El préstamo lo invertirá en la compra de más productos de belleza. El grupo agradece a los inversionistas KIVA por el préstamo brindado. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
