A loan of $1,000 helped to buy supplies for cleaning and maintaining her coffee crops.

Norma Alicia's story

Norma is a 32-year-old married woman. She has three children from her marriage who all live under the same roof. Norma completed her primary education but was unable to pursue her studies any further owing to a lack of financial support from her parents. It was her parents who taught her how to work the land and, in particular, how to grow coffee. The business is a family inheritance and both Norma and her husband work in it. The land on which she and her husband work belongs to them as they inherited it from her parents.

Norma is requesting help to invest in cleaning and maintaining her crops. She needs to add manure and fertilizer to her crops in order to ensure a good harvest.

Norma's future plans are to further improve her crops by purchasing more land so that she can make more income and profits for her family. This will enable her and her husband to provide their children with a better quality of life and improve their educational opportunities.
