A loan of $1,300 helped to buy organic manure.

Isabel's story

Isabel is 46 years old and is a cheerful person. She lives with her husband Ambrosio and their 5 children. They live together in the house they bought 12 years ago. For more than 15 years she has worked in agriculture on her crop land where she plants alfalfa, which she uses to feed her animals and also sells. She is able to do her work thanks to the support of her husband and children. Every day she sells her crops in the different cities of the country. “My main buyers are merchants from the different markets in the city where I live,” she explains. She says that this month business went very well for her, she had good earnings. For this reason, she wants to continue planting. She explains that the crops she now has are peas, fava beans, corn, and other vegetables, which she will soon harvest and send to the capital of the country, since that is where she has more buyers. This is her third loan with Kiva. She feels happy because in this time she has had a lot of earnings and it is all thanks to the economic support they provide. She pledges to complete her repayments in a punctual manner. Isabel will use the 3,500.00 PEN (Peruvian nuevos soles) to buy organic manure to improve her crops.
