Elmina, Ghana / Food Market

A loan of $500 helped to purchase an increased amount of bread to resell.

Efua's story

Having grown up in difficult circumstances, Efua did not have access to any form of formal education. Even so, this has not stopped her from achieving her dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Currently, Efua sells bread in Kokoado (near Cape Coast). She has been doing so for about five years. As a widow caring for three children, Efua uses all of her income to feed and provide for her family.

Efua will use the loan to purchase an increased amount of bread, which will allow her to increase her overall sales. Efua wants to use the future profits from her expanded business, to ensure that all her children are able to receive an education.
