A loan of $5,925 helped a member to buy more fresh fruits to resell and more chicken to fry and sell.


Ulezi Group's story

Daud, who is in his early 30s, is married, with two children who go to school. For five years, he has been running two businesses, selling fresh fruits and fried chicken. He works from 4.00am (very early in the morning) to 10.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Daud's third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania Ltd. He used the previous loans to increase the amount fresh fruits and to buy more chicken to fry and sell. He has successfully paid back all his loans. He used the profit to buy a bed and a TV set and to pay household expenses. He will use this loan to buy more fresh fruits to resell and more chicken to fry and sell. His dream is to one day be able to buy a car for his business and to build his own house.

Daud will share this loan with his loan group, Ulezi Group, with fourteen members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
