A loan of $850 helped a member to buy wooden boards to renovate her house.

Pum's Group's story

A villager from Pursat Province, Pum is 56 years old and a widow. To deal with the daily cost of living, she sells corn and small freshwater clams. This is the business that she has had for 10 years and it earns her about 9,000 KHR per day.

Pum has been a client of VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) for six loan cycles. She has formed a group of four to apply for a new loan. The past loans, which she has fully repaid, have helped her to support her business. As the group leader, Pum will spend her portion of this new loan to buy wooden boards to renovate her house. She hopes to own a decent house to live in.
