A loan of $575 helped to buy a sewing machine.

Edilberto's story

Edilberto, 46 years old, lives in the municipality of Malambo. He is a father of three children, ages 16 - 19. In his home he has a small sewing shop, which he started in 1998. His grandmother first taught him how to sew, and he later completed a technical course in order to perfect his art. Edilberto gradually increased his passion for his business, and today dedicates himself completely to his craft. His business has significant potential to grow, and his dream is to increase his infrastructure and reach 15 sewing machines, in order to continue to improve the quality of life of his family.

Currently, he is applying for this loan from Kiva, his first loan with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, in order to buy a new machine. This will improve his productivity, and help him towards his dream of prosperity. This would make his Kiva loan a success.
