A loan of $1,075 helped to buy fertilizers, fungicides and insectides.

Rubiel De Jesús's story

48-year-old Rubiel is a strong, conscientious farmer. His family are his main focus in life and the reason why he works hard every day, so that he can provide them with better living conditions. Rubiel grows tree tomatoes, creole potatoes and beans. He sells these crops in the market square in his town. He is requesting this loan to buy inputs for his crops: natural fertilizers and also chemicals such as fungicides and insecticides, to ensure a better quality harvest.

Rubiel says that his biggest challenge is keeping his produce in the market in spite of price fluctuations. This has led to him making some losses. He hopes to improve his family's quality of life and to guarantee his four children a good education.
