Gladys is 42 years old and a mother of four children. She sells used clothing and charcoal in the neighborhood to earn income for her family. She considers used clothing sales to be a very profitable activity; however, she does not have enough capital to buy cloths for sale. Gladys also sells charcoal to earn additional income and be able to pay her children’s school fees. Currently, Gladys needs a loan of US$400 for the purchase of additional bales of cloths and bags of charcoal to expand her sales business. She is a member of the group called Isaiah whose members provide a guarantee for each other as social collateral to repay the loan.
