Tanzanite Group's story

Nashon, who is in his late 30s, is married with three children, who are still going to school. Nashon has been running a barber shop for two years now. He works from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Nashon's 2nd loan from Tujijennge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to repair the shop by painting the walls and bought salon equipment which was out of stock. He has paid his loan back successfully. Nashon used the profit to pay school fees and household expenses. He will use this loan to buy more and advanced shaving machines and more salon equipment to make the salon more attractive to customers. His dream is to one day be able to open another barber shop in a different place.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Tanzanite" with thirteen members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
