Araba's story

Due to difficult circumstances, Araba did not have access to any form of formal education, yet this has not stopped her from achieving her dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Currently, Araba sells porridge in Putubiw (near Cape Coast). She has been doing so for about five years. She is married and has two children. Araba uses all of her income to feed and provide for her family. Araba will use the loan to purchase an increased amount of ingredients to make porridge, which will aid her in improving her overall sales. Araba wants to use the future profits from her expanded business to ensure that all her children are able to receive an education.
