Flora's story

Flora is a 45-year-old farmer. She lives with her husband in the village of Ddmashen, which is in the Sevan area. Flora has two sons. The elder one is a military man; the second son is in the Russian Federation, working abroad. Flora has never worked outside the farm. Her whole life Flora has engaged in agricultural business.

She grows vegetables and fruits in her garden, which her husband sells in the Sevan fruit markets. She has also a large barn for animals and breeds cows, sheep and chickens. Flora also has 20 beehives and the honey from her farm is most popular in the Sevan area.

Flora is a very hardworking lady and she makes very tasty cheese from her animals' milk and sells it to resellers from Yerevan. The income from farming and land cultivating allows Flora to sustain her family. Her younger son from time to time helps Flora from Russia and shares his family's bills in Armenia.

Flora likes her rural occupation and she confessed that agriculture is very hard but at the same time a very pleasant and profitable business. Flora needs a loan to buy calves and fodder for her animals. This is the first loan from Kiva for Flora and she hopes to cooperate with Nor Horizon and Kiva again.
