A loan of $175 helped to purchase goods.

Bendu's story

Please meet 28-year-old Bendu from St. Paul in Liberia. St. Paul is home to the oldest market in Liberia and is known for its fish due to its location by the sea. St. Paul is a suburb located just outside Monrovia, past Freeport. It is one of the poorer areas, and you will often find its residents living in sub-standard housing.

Bendu completed 8th grade and is married. Her husband is a barber. She has two children between the ages of 8 and 5. Her two children are in school and they both live at home.

Bendu has owned her own business selling peppers, oil, okra, and other items for the past four years. She will use the loan proceeds to purchase goods.
On average, she works 7 hours at her business each day. She started her business with money from her husband. She transports her merchandise by taxi. She cites the rainy season as her biggest challenge. Her favorite part of her business is the profit. In the future, she would like to build a shop.
She thanks you in advance for your support!
