Manal's story

Manal studied until only 8th grade and was married at the age of 17. She is now 40 years old, and is mother of eight children. She is dedicated to making a healthy life for herself and her family. In 2003, Manal’s in-laws opened a general store-gift shop. She began helping them, and learned the business from the bottom up. After they passed away in 2011, Manal and her husband gained ownership of the business. Due to her experience, determination and drive, Manal took over managing the business. It has been doing well, answering customer demands and taking advantage of is central location near Nazereth and the village of Shfaraam. Manal’s store, stocks products that are in demand and offers competitive and fair prices. Manal decided it was time to expand her store and diversify her products in order to meet customer requests. Manal needed this loan to assist in covering the costs for purchasing shelving, renovations, expanded stock, signage and an air conditioner. Manal has one hired staff person and after the renovations wants to hire a second. She wants to see her children educated and gain good professions.
