Sandra Luz
Sandra is originally from Oxaca but has been living in Piedras Negras for nine years. She had to migrate due to her husband's employment and since they liked the city of Piedras Negras they decided to live there. Sanda is a very productive entrepreneur who sells quality American cooking products to homemakers. Her husband works as a mechanic for a car dearler. They only have one son who is independent and has his own family.

Sandra is requesting a loan through KIVA to renovate the outside of her home. She wants to start by painting the outside which is very worn so the house will look nicer and feel more comfortable for out-of-town family to visit.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
