A loan of $1,350 helped to buy manure and fertilizer.

Xiomara Jaquelene's story

Xiomara’s a 30-year-old married woman and mother of five children. One of them is in high-school, a girl is in fifth grade the other two are in fourth grade and one of them is still too young. She completed elementary school thanks to her parents’ support. She and her husband have been growing coffee for more than 25 years; their parents taught them how to work the land when they were very young. They have acquired their land partly through inheritance from both their parents and part of it through their own effort and work; the land is located two kilometers from their house and they get there sometimes by vehicle and sometimes on foot. She currently needs support to buy fertilizer and manure to provide maintenance for her coffee crop so that it will be 100% useful. Her future plan is to be able to expand the coffee crops because her dream as a mother is to see her children complete their schooling and to offer them better quality of life and that they have more opportunities in life.
