A loan of $1,125 helped to buy compost, fertilizer, and other items.

Juliana Janet's story

Juliana is 37 years old. She lives with her husband and their two marvelous children, whom Juliana loves very much. She works hard and makes sacrifices in order to provide them with a better quality of life and better opportunities. Juliana was only able to complete three years of a high school education, so now she works very hard so that her children will have a better future.

Day to day, Juliana works as a farmer. Currently, she grows potatoes, a native plant to Peru that is delicious and used in many typical dishes. Juliana works about 10 hours each day, especially Monday through Friday since she tries to spend the weekends with her family. Juliana believes that she is getting ahead because she is very responsible and has faith in God.

Juliana is very grateful to Kiva lenders for the great support offered to her. With this loan, she will be able to buy compost and fertilizers for her crops as well as pay to irrigate and plough her land. This will help improve Juliana's crops, which will improve her sales so that she can keep working toward turning her dream of "giving her children the education to enter a good profession and to have her own plot of land" into a reality.
