Marleni's story

Marleni is 46 years old and lives with her husband and their two children in their own home. Marleni has dedicated her time to providing sewing services for the last 15 years. She began looking for a way to improve their income and help cover the household costs. For this reason, she decided to study dressmaking in the local occupational center. Today she has many customers because she is a woman who is creative and earnest. As every business has its ups and downs, Marleni has been through many difficulties. In the beginning some of her work was defective and she didn't like her customers, but through this experience she has been able to improve in the art of dressmaking. Now she earns very good income, with which she helps her husband maintain their family stability.

This is Marleni's first Kiva loan, and she is very grateful for the economic help that she is receiving which will help her to improve her business. With this 4,000 Peruvian Soles, Marleni will invest in the purchase of fabric, thread, needles, buttons and other materials that are used in the manufacture of garments.
