In her hometown of Ft. Hancock, 31-year-old Melynda operates Heart JM Transportation, a trucking company hauling oil field equipment.

She’s been in business since 2006, continuing with the family tradition. Her family and her husband’s family each have been in the industry all their lives. Melynda says, “It’s what we know.”

Melynda says their business is set apart from others by their customer service. “We have the experience,” she says. As Melynda tells, the couple takes care of what they’re hauling and are punctual.

To keep up with her business goals, Melynda needed a loan to repurchase a truck her husband previously owned while working for someone at a larger company.

After learning about Accion Texas Inc. from one of their many clients, Melynda decided she would venture to ask them for a loan. Once she applied and was approved, Melynda decided to use her loan to repurchase the truck.

Working with Accion “was easy enough,” Melynda says. She plans to pay off her loan swiftly and is making her first payment before it’s due.
