Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT), a partner of Kiva.org based in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. They are requesting a loan of16,800,000 SLL for the entire team in other to meet their most pressing financial challenges. They can easily repay the loan. It is their school’s bursar who is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

Iye is the featured leader of this group. A native of Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone, the 30-year-old is a widow with 2 children. Iye has been a school teacher for 30 years now. She has requested for this loan in order to buy materials like iron corrugated sheets, sand, cement, iron rods, and other material to construct a house.
