A loan of $625 helped to buy medicines.

Joaquin's story

Joaquín is 58 years old and has been the owner of a drugstore since 2001, taking advantage of his 10 years of experience in this area. From a very young age, he has been attracted to everything related to health. For this reason, Joaquín studied to become a pharmacy manager and later worked for a long time at different laboratories. The products that he offers are medicines most requested in the community as a result of his marketing. Joaquín works Monday through Sunday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. He purchases his goods from the laboratory distributors and then sells them on credit or for cash. His dream of prosperity is to convert his drugstore into a large pharmaceutical distribution center directed at the neighborhoods in his town. On a personal level, he would like to improve the quality of life for his family.

Joaquín is currently applying for a Kiva loan, his first form of financing through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. This will enable him to buy medicines so that he can meet the primary needs of his customers. His Kiva loan will increase his operating capital so that he can manage his inventory based on the turnover of the medicines.
