A loan of $3,625 helped a member buy disposable cups and spoons for her meals business.

Uniendo Fuerzas Group's story

Salome is 65 years old and has been a widow for some 14 years. She has 10 children, all of whom are independent. Being a member of the "Uniting Forces" Group has helped Salome with her business of selling local dishes -- 'maize porridge' and 'repeated again chicken" -- in the streets. At the same time, she has also worked at laundering clothes for some 8 years.

The loan she requests will be invested in purchasing cups and disposable spoons. Salome's greatest desire is to build her house, including a room to be rented out. In this manner, she will be able to obtain a fixed income.

The Group thanks Kiva investors for offering loans to members. In the photo, Salome is the 1st person shown on the left side.
