A loan of $575 helped purchase a cow.

Norith's story

Norith is 53 years old, married, and lives with her husband, two children and granddaughter. For 30 years, she has been working as the head teacher in the town garden. Although this is her main form of income, in order to complement this income, she also raises cattle. Every weekend, along with her husband, she goes to her fields to milk the cows and later sell it. With the money she had saved from selling milk, her and her husband were able to purchase a motorcycle to travel to their farm which is an hours from their home.

With the earnings from her milk sales and her savings, she hopes to purchase more cattle to increase her production and improve her sales. This is her first Kiva loan, and she is very grateful for the financial support she has received to continue striving to succeed, which is why she is committed to pay back the loan in a timely manner. She is requesting 1500 Soles which she will invest in the purchase of a cow to increase her production.
