Teresa's story

Teresa is 38 years old. She is a single mother of 3 children. However, she lives with only one of her daughters. She lives in her own home. Teresa sells ladies', men's and children's clothes of different styles, sizes and colours of clothes. She purchases her merchandise on a periodic basis. She sells this merchandise in the villages close to the river. All of her sales are cash sales. Another young woman works with her. She enjoys her work a lot because she gets to meet new customers and to generate her own income. She sees that her earnings are very good and for this reason she would like to add to her business a shop where her customers can go. On this occasion she is requesting a loan of S/ 1500. She is very grateful for this financial opportunity and for the financial support which she requires to ensure her business gets ahead. For this reason, she is committed to making all her payments on time. With the amount requested she will buy a load of clothes comprising polo shirts, jeans, trousers, blouses, shirts and shorts, which she will offer for sale to her customers.
