Janet, 48, is married and has six children who always help her out. Janet has been a merchant for three years. She has a well-stocked retail shop with all of the basic goods in well-populated area in town. She says that she began with a small kiosk when she moved to town, and with a lot of sacrifice she grew her business. There is a lot of competition in the area. She also says that she is very proud of her work because with her efforts she has been able to support and educate her children.
Janet is asking for a loan to buy rice, noodles, beef, drinks and other items so that she can continue offering variety to her customers.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
